Product Experience

On the 22nd and 23rd of May 2008 Affect - the centre for affective design research presented a Product Experience workshop hosted by Tait Electronics in Christchurch. The workshop was opened by Dr Anders Warell and dealt with the subject of product experience and its consequence for design, Anders introduced the Perceptual Product Experience Framework (PPE); a tool for understanding the pleasure and emotional experience of products by examining the impression, appreciation, emotion, recognition, comprehension and associations that result from product experience.

 

Leon Erasmuson conducted a tour of Tait Electronics for the workshop participants with much enlightening discussion on the consequence of manufacturing in New Zealand. In the afternoon, Kenneth Young, presented a PPE case study and followed up with a hands-on workshop exercise.
