
Affect - the Centre for Affective Design Research presented a two day workshop, Smart Houses: Incursions into the intelligent environment, in Auckland in November 2005.
Rodney Adank, Azhar Mohamed and Anders Warell presented a welcome to the workshop on day one. Grant Davidson (of Philips Design) provided and introduction. A branstorming session was held around scenarios and mind mapping was done to structure ideas and define areas of interest. Concept generation, development, presentation and evaluation took place after lunch and a public presentation was held in the evening.
An introduction to day two and a follow-up of day one were provided by Rodney Adank, Azhar Mohamed and Anders Warell. Grant Davidson presented a short talk for inspiration after which groups developed designs while paying attention to specific design needs. Concept evaluation and Five Senses testing were conducted. Concepts were presented and the workshop ended with the award of certificates.
