Surplus and Creativity

09/10/2009

The human race manufactures consumer goods at an unprecedented rate. These products have a life and when it is over they are either discarded to storage or dumped. Using these discarded, ready-made items has a long tradition in art and design. The Surplus and Creativity exhibition sees staff, postgraduate students and associates of Affect, re-contextualising surplus or discarded objects to produce a new vision of use. The exhibition can be viewed at Conservation House from the 17th of November to the 1st of December 2009 between the hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday.
